The entire globe is now undergoing the most momentous economic and social change in 150 years. The change is initiated by the impact of literacy and within the past 20 years by skills in the digital world. Although literacy has long been recognized as an essential ingredient in the workplace in defining a person’s ability to read, write and cope with arithmetic, digital literacy has become a critical information technology competence regarded as a survival skill; a new form of literacy and a prerequisite for creativity,
innovation and entrepreneurship, without which citizens can neither participate fully in society, nor acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to meet with 21st century national and international workplace needs.
Additionally, Digital inequality can hinder women’s economic empowerment such as access to employment, education, health, and financial inclusion that is accessible digitally. Specifically a lot of African girls (especially in Northern Nigeria) grow up without having access to positive role models and are unaware of the opportunities open to them in life through technology.
The She & Tech Project seeks to change this narrative through research, highlighting these opportunities to them, inspiring them and building capacity in them to access these opportunities and change their own stories.

The school Tech talk is to showcase the broad range of careers that studying STEM courses can lead to, and to help young people feel that STEM
is for people like them. Career talk is targeted at the school girl child and it is focused on
Technology. It creates awareness about what you can do with technology irrespective of your career choice. It also enables them understand how remarkable they are and can become whatever they chose to be.
We engage in research to ensure equal participation of women in technology and decision-making around it to help ensure that there is better balanced development and growth, promote gender equality and women’s rights while attempting to see to it that widely used technologies do not affect women adversely
