The Inspiration Behind She and Tech
She and Tech was born out of a deep passion to empower women in technology. As a woman in tech myself, I saw firsthand how underrepresented and often overlooked women are in this industry. I realized that there is a need for spaces and platforms that not only support women in tech but also inspire the next generation of female leaders in STEM fields.
The inspiration came from my own experiences—navigating the tech world as a woman, facing challenges, and overcoming barriers. I wanted to create a community where women could connect, learn, and grow together, breaking the stereotypes and creating opportunities for success.

At She and Tech, our vision is simple yet powerful: To empower women in technology and equip them with the skills, resources, and confidence to become leaders in the tech world.
We believe that technology is shaping the future, and for that future to be inclusive and innovative, women need to be at the table. Our goal is to foster a diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem, where women not only thrive but also lead the way in driving technological advancements that impact society positively.
- Our Initiatives
To bring our vision to life, we’ve launched several initiatives that aim to inspire, educate, and empower women:
- Tech Training & Mentorship Programs: We provide women with the technical skills needed to thrive in today’s digital world. We partner with experts to offer coding bootcamps, AI workshops, and leadership training, ensuring that women have the skills to succeed in high-demand tech careers.
- Networking Events: Our events bring together women in tech to share their stories, exchange ideas, and build a supportive community. These events are crucial in creating a sense of belonging and showcasing role models who have paved the way.
- STEM Advocacy: We actively work to advocate for more women in STEM, pushing for policies and practices that encourage gender equality and equal opportunities for all.
- Achievements So Far
We are so proud of what we have achieved in just a few short years:
- Empowered over 1000 women through our training programs and workshops.
- Hosted multiple events, including networking meetups, hackathons, and leadership summits, that have connected women from various corners of the tech industry.
- Created a strong online community of women who support each other, share resources, and collaborate on projects.
- Partnered with key organizations such as Data Scientist network in an initiative called ArewaLadiesin Tech. We executed the tech career mentorship session for 3 cohorts of over 300 beneficiaries.
But most importantly, we’ve inspired women to see themselves as leaders in tech—something we believe will have a lasting ripple effect for generations to come.
- What We Intend to Achieve
Looking ahead, She and Tech has big plans for the future:
- Scaling our programs to reach thousands more women globally, ensuring that women in every part of the world have access to the skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive.
- Establishing tech incubators to help women-led tech startups get the resources, funding, and mentorship they need to scale and succeed.
- Advocating for policy changes that promote gender equality and diversity in tech, making sure that women’s voices are heard in key decision-making spaces.
- Creating a robust platform where women can showcase their work, collaborate on projects, and access ongoing support throughout their tech careers.
